JITKA SARA PÁNÍKOVÁ

Jitka is a dancer, performer, and choreographer. She began her dance journey at the Duncan Centre Dance Conservatory in Prague, specializing in contemporary dance and physical theatre. Beyond the Czech dance scene, she has had the opportunity to draw on diverse artistic approaches that have significantly influenced her movement qualities and transformed her artistic vocabulary.
Her international experiences include studying in the Certificate Program at the Peridance Capezio Center in New York City, earning a Master’s degree in Performing Public Space at Fontys University of Performing Arts in the Netherlands, and gaining work experience in Chengdu and Shenzhen, China, as well as Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Jitka has collaborated closely with choreographers such as Michal Zahora, PocketArt, Tereza Lenerová & Co., Peter Šavel, Sofia Krantz, Flavia Tápias, Anna Källblad, and Helena Byström.
As an emerging artist, one of her most significant choreographic achievements is performance dis pla y, which won the main prize at the Czech Dance Platform in 2022.
Currently, she is part of a three-year international research project, iCoDaCo (http://www.icodaco.com/), under the umbrella of Atla Theatre, where she explores contemporary dance in its current context.
